Managing that Sore Throat. Seek medical attention
Managing that Sore Throat. A sore throat can be a symptom of a cold coming on. But in these compromised times it is also one of the more scary reality checks of what is going on around us with COVID-19 and worth keeping a tight check on things.
Although some people seek medical attention as soon as possible under normal circumstances, you may want to try one of the following home remedies to see to which extent you have been affected first. Day or two with a niggly throat but by day 3 a doctors opinion might be best advised this Pandemic season.
Gargle with saltwater
Several studies have found that gargling with warm salt (Himalayan/pink salt) water a few times daily can reduce swelling in the throat and loosen mucous thus helping to flush out irritants or bacteria. Some even add a little bicarb too help neutralise and or help the pH of the throat. Doctors usually recommend dissolving half a teaspoon of salt in one cup of warm water. You can try adding a small amount of honey to sweeten the mixture slightly if you find it difficult to swallow the salty water.
I personally don’t choose chemical rinses as you run the risk of destroying all the natural microbiome starting in the throat and then affecting the natural balance everywhere. Other alternatives would be using a Colloidal Silver, gargling first and then swallowing. In aggravated cases where a little fever is a possible indication of more use the Imsyser Vulcan Silver 1000x more potent than your average Colloidal Silver. Instant results are achieved and within a day or 3 you feel amazing with improved energy levels as you kill all the other potential underlying bus and or toxic load:
This is something I did throughout the lockdown once a day and if I suspected any other negative feeling I added another 2 doses a day. For the rest of the time and still today I gargle with my daily intake of my Probiotic. This is of course the added benefit of taking the Imsyser Liquid fermented Probiotic because it works from the Mouth restoring microbiome balance there, down the throat and obviously all the way into the gut too the lowest end working, working, working unlike your average tablet or capsule type Probiotic:
Take throat lozenges
Sucking on throat lozenges stimulates the production of saliva, which may help moisten your throat. These days there are a wide variety of flavours to choose from but try selecting those with menthol or eucalyptus as they will help bring about relief due to their cooling and numbing effects. Honey is also a good soother for the non-Diabetic – I add honey and lemon juice and slowly allow it too drip down my throat. Home use but for on the road a lozenge works best.
Increase fluid intake
Be sure to stay well hydrated when you’re unwell or when your throat is irritated or inflamed. You should be drinking enough fluid so that your urine is light yellow or clear. This is your best indicator and often if a little infection is present more water is needed. Make it lukewarm if need be too soothe and add a little honey and or lemon. This will keep your mucous membranes moist and makes your body better able to fight back against other cold symptoms.
Healing herbal Teas
To soothe a sore throat, try drinking a warm cup of herbal tea with a teaspoon of honey. Minimise the coffee drinking. The antibacterial properties of the honey will help to heal your throat faster. For this the Chaya tea is amazing helping curb toxicity, and increase circulation – crucial during this Pandemic:
