Explaining acidity in the first place….Our bodies regulate acidity within a very tight range. Normal blood acidity levels range between a pH of 7.35 and 7.45. (pH of 7.0 = neutral; neither acidic nor alkaline). pH below 7.0 is acidic. pH above 7.0 is alkaline. Blood, at pH 7.35 to 7.45, is slightly alkaline. The body can become dangerously acidic (acidosis) or far too alkaline (alkalosis). When people experience acidosis or alkalosis, they are very sick. They may even need the help of a respirator to breathe; a dialysis machine to function for their kidneys, or they may even go into a coma.

Foods that make the body less acidic are the same foods that fight disease. Plants. Gods own natural medicine which is the original source of  modern medicines on the shelves today; and should be ours!! Vegetables and fruit, make the body less acidic. Meat and protein foods tend to make the body more acidic. This can be measured in the blood and urine. It is a known fact that vegetarians have less acidic urine than people who eat meat. Remember there are a few acidic foods such as lemons although very acidic have the incredible ability to make the body less acidic. The reason the Imsyser team always hammer on the fact that drinking enough GOOD water is not enough add that organic lemon juice( unsweetened or preferably whole fruit juice). Most vegetables and fruit decrease acid production in the body. It is a good idea to invest in cheaper pH strips to test regularly or even better a pH meter.   • Meat: All meat (beef, chicken, pork, lamb), fish, fowl (duck, goose), shellfish, eggs, all types of cheese, peanut butter, peanuts
  • Fats: Bacon, nuts (brazil nuts, filberts (hazel nuts), walnuts)
  • Starch: All types of bread, cereal, crackers, pasta, noodles
  • Vegetables: Corn, lentils
  • Fruits: Cranberries, plums, prunes
  • Sweets: Plain cakes, cookies. ALL SUGARS!!!!

Now those making the body more alkaline:

  • Milk: Milk and milk products, cream, buttermilk
  • Fats: Nuts (almonds, chestnuts, coconut). ALL GOOD FATS WITH OMEGAS 3.
  • Vegetables: All types (except corn & lentils); especially good are beets, beet greens, Swiss chard, dandelion greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, turnip greens
  • Fruits: Most types (except cranberries, plums, prunes)
  • Sweets: Molasses; little honey

In the end, being “less acid” WILL have a great impact on your health, since researchers have shown that we might improve cancer treatments by changing the acidic micro-environment in tumours using medications and other techniques. It is however also about balance. Once balance is established acidity changes and all systems come into place; weight drops; energy levels pick up and we feel better and from there the ‘mind over matter’ is another amazing healer……Change your thought processes ALL DAY LONG….

We always suggest a couple of tricks to assist the body into alkaline states: possibly a flat teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda first thing in the morning or a tablespoon of good organic apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Thereafter continue with your lemon water all day, a glass on the hour preferably, to maintain the ‘alkalinity’. Thereafter continual choices: you are what you eat!!! It will take 21 days to change these habits and another 21 days to consolidate these patterns and from there the worlds your oyster!
