- Fats: Bacon, certain nuts (Brazil nuts, filberts, walnuts)
- Starches: Bread, cereal, crackers, pasta, noodles
- Vegetables: Corn, lentils
- Fruits: Cranberries, plums, prunes
- Sweets: Cakes, cookies, all refined sugars
Alkalizing Foods to Include
- Milk & Dairy: Milk, cream, buttermilk
- Healthy Fats: Almonds, chestnuts, coconut (rich in Omega-3)
- Vegetables: Beets, beet greens, Swiss chard, dandelion greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, turnip greens
- Fruits: Most fruits (except cranberries, plums, prunes)
- Sweets: Molasses, small amounts of honey
Tips for Maintaining Alkalinity
- A flat teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda on an empty stomach in the morning
- A tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach
- Lemon water throughout the day, ideally a glass every hour
- Make conscious food choices: “you are what you eat”
