While many people now know the term probiotics, many of them don’t know how to choose a safe AND effective product. Recent studies have shown that the symbiosis between pre – and pro- biotics is crucial for modern day health to fall into perspective knowing and understanding that we do not only need a daily supplement of such but a good one that supplies all our daily human gut needs.
What is a Probiotic?
The word Probiotic, according to the World Health Organization means: “Probiotics are living microorganisms, which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.”
“Pro” means “For”
Biotic means “Life”
Probiotic means “Pro-Life”
Probiotics are “good bacteria”. Your native human intestinal micro flora is your indigenous probiotics. Probiotic supplements provide beneficial living bacteria, such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobactia, that help to support digestive balance and digestive health.
Why do we need Probiotics??
Many factors may contribute to an imbalance of your native gut flora such as diet, stress, illness, certain medications such as antibiotics, ageing and much more. Such an imbalance may contribute to digestive upset and may lead to other issues.
The concept of probiotics was born in the early 20th century when Russian scientist Elie Metchnikoff hypothesized about the use of fermented milk and using them to elicit health benefits for people that consumed the yogurt like fermented milk. He concluded that the fermented milk product helped to “seed” the intestines with friendly beneficial bacteria. By seeding the intestines with these friendly probiotic bacteria he found that it may help suppress the growth of bad bacteria or at the very least keep things in balance. These fermented milks are the best examples of early probiotics.
What is a Prebiotic?
It is food for the probiotics. These prebiotics actually help the probiotics grow and flourish. They are extremely important in supporting the survival of probiotics.
Prebiotics important properties include:
◾Healthy bacteria- building potential
◾They are fibre
◾They are indigestible by bad bacteria
◾They are food for the probiotics
More recent studies have proven BOTH are needed. Imsyser has an extra ADDED benefit – digestive enzymes. So, in other words we do not have a fermented (the best!) probiotic in a liquid form with added digestive enzymes, but we have a probiotic that has 12 STRAINS of the best (and least known even in the pharmaceutical circles!) strains to suit human gut health for all ages. This 500ml container is enough for the whole family and does NOT have to be refrigerated! Another benefit. It also once opened might last for up to 2 months. Another benefit as we need to supplement with probiotics daily. This probiotic is not affected by stomach acids as it is a fermented product. Yet another added benefit! And then most importantly, usually instant relief is found especially in IBS cases. Bio feedback from our clients is just too amazing.
